Gravity Bongs

The Gravity Bong was invented in 2003 when two stoner friends were looking for an alternative way to enjoy their favorite weed products. They found that they could not get the high-quality hits they wanted when using a traditional water pipe or water bong, so they decided to design something better.

After several months of testing different designs, they came up with the glass gravity bong which has become very popular today.

How do Gravity Bongs work:

Gravity bongs combine two containers and use water as a seal. They work by submerging the smaller bottle or container into a larger water-filled bottle or bucket.

The smaller upper container is fitted with a herb bowl/mouthpiece on top.

When the bowl is ignited and the submerged container is pulled up, the air is pulled through the burning herb bowl and the chamber is filled with smoke.

Once filled, you remove the bowl, put your mouth over the mouthpiece, and push the upper section down to let gravity, air, and water pressure propel the smoke into your lungs.

How Do I Make a Waterfall Bong?

If you're looking for a fun DIY project and feel like getting crafty with your cannabis consumption, here's some info on how to create your own waterfall bong using a few everyday household objects.

A waterfall bong is made up of only one container. The container or plastic bottle must have a bottle cap, a metal or aluminum foil bowl, a mouthpiece, and a small carb hole near the bottom of the bottle so the water can drain easily.

Fill the bottle up with your finger over the hole. Attach and light the loaded herb bowl and remove your finger from the hole to release the water.

As the water flows out of the container, the air is pulled through the ignited bowl causing the herbs to burn and build up smoke.

Now all you need to do is remove the entire bowl and inhale through the bottle opening mouthpiece for big, tasty rips!

Please be aware that many homemade bongs or smoking devices are made using single-use plastic water bottles. These bottles can contain PETE or PET (polyethylene terephthalate) that can release chemicals when heated.
